Its almost blasphemous to say that one is happy right now, in this moment.

Its alright to select a small percentage of memories from the past and say we were happy back then and its equally alright to project a happiness in the future even though we might not live till the end of today. But one is faced with quiet bemusement when one simply says they are happy right now, doing simple everyday things, meeting simple everyday challenges and living a simple life.

A rigor of the capitalist thinking has confused achievement with happiness. Fight for it, earn it, work hard and the shinniz. Roll in the muck of your mind, blinded by your plans infinitely. The present is painted with hardships of future plans and in moments of pause, past nostalgia.

But happiness is not for the blind, its for one who sees with increasing clarity. One who can notice patterns of the very life-source bubbling in everything they touch with their senses. One who can see that the past has given, the present is giving and the future will give to the one who seeks.

Sometimes I’ll find myself working on something that needs to be done. I have no interest in doing it and I only want for it to get over. The feeling of what I want to do next constantly polluting what I am doing right now. The act of cleaning the dishes polluted by the plans of cooking, the plans of cooking polluted by the plans of working and so on.

And in that muddled polluted mind I find it hard to see things going wrong, its hard to see opportunities to find joy and its hard to enjoy the minutes as they are passing along me. I need to remember that it is more agreeable to ‘control desiring’ rather than vehemently ‘desiring control’ for the simple reason to find calm, joy and harmony.

It is where you stand that you are full of opportunities.

The world is full of distractions, every person shouting to showcase themselves. The air is full of loud voices garnering applause for the lives they have crafted for themselves. It is easy to feel what is showcased to be better than where you are.

It is easy to feel you should be doing something other than what you feel is right to do. But once you shut the noise and see clearly, the things that you have are unique to you, they speak to you in a voice only you can understand, they ask of you to be present for them. In their silent, wordless language they tell you things about yourself nobody else can. They show you the way, for you to grow, for you to bloom.
